:: Legal Team ::

The legal team is well supported by an established and long-serving team of capable staff. With its multi-ethnic composition, the staff are able to assist the lawyers in offering professional service and support to clients of diverse religious and ethnic background. This is particularly crucial in a cosmopolitan country such as Malaysia.

The firm presently has 2 partners and 2 legal assistants. The members of the legal team possess no less than 7 years active practice each. The team prides itself on its integrity and its wide experience in dealing with complex and varied matters. Despite this, the team sees itself as young and forward-looking, and possesses the expertise and capacity to act quickly whenever required. The team is quite able to compete with the bigger city firms whilst providing highly personalised service to its clients. The legal team draws its strength from the diverse ethnic backgrounds of its members.

K. RADHAKRISHNAN, the firm’s founder and senior partner, had a successful career in the plantation sector before venturing into legal practice. He studied agriculture in the Netherlands. In 1979 he left the plantation sector to study law at the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom from where he graduated with an LLB (Hons) degree. He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn as a Barrister in 1982 and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1983. He has extensive experience in commercial and criminal litigation and has successfully handled drug and robbery cases. He also advises on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, assets and shares acquisitions and disposals and joint ventures. He also handles conveyancing matters. He provides consultancy services to clients in the plantation sector and on contract negotiations. He is also a Commissioner for Oaths and a registered trademark agent.

CHIN CHEE LEONG, the firm’s co-partner, studied advertising and was in the retail industry for a number of years before he took up law. He obtained his law degree from the University of London and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1992. He has extensive experience in commercial litigation and corporate work including conveyancing. His diverse portfolio includes providing advice, drafting and reviewing agreements relating to intellectual property rights, software supply, development and implementation, software licensing and distribution, website development, biotechnology research and development, carbon exchange, bioprospecting, forest management, construction, research collaboration and joint ventures. He also advises on the drafting of wills, loan-documentation and sale and purchase of properties. He also represents clients in arbitration proceedings.

T. JAYADEVA graduated from the University of Buckingham with LLB (Hons). He was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1987. He heads the civil litigation division of the firm and has wide experience in several areas, including landlord and tenant litigation, land law, administrative law, criminal law, defamation, arbitration, employment law, tort, injunction work including Mareva injunctions, divorce proceedings and in recent years, litigation involving environmental law. He has regularly appeared in the Industrial Courts, High Courts, Court of Appeal and the Federal Court.

ONG PENG HOE has a background in Chinese education. He is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. He obtained his LLB (Hons) from the University of London and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1995. He has extensive experience in commercial and civil litigation and conveyancing. His particular expertise is in the area of hire-purchase, probate and administration, foreclosure, bankruptcy, insurance, immigration, housing development, IT practice, banking, debt-collection, loan-documentation and sale and purchase of properties. He regularly appears in the Sessions and Magistrates’ Courts, Labour Courts and High Courts and has also appeared in the Court of Appeal and Federal Court.
